Undoubtedly, Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH) Ikorodu is one of the most beautiful polytechnics Nigeria can proud of. However, the school also has some ugly environments.

LASPOTECH holds orientation programme for new students



…charges students to shun cultism, indecent dressing

The Management of Lagos State Polytechnic has held the 2015/2016 academic session orientation programme for the newly admitted students.

The Orientation programme which was held recently at the 700 seaters auditorium of the school, was a gathering specially organized to orientate, educate and inform the new National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) students of the school on the rules and regulations of the institution.

While delivering his short speech at the programme, the Director of Students’ Affairs Mr. Jimoh Ishola charged the students to obey the rules and regulations of the school by shunning cultism and indecent dressing among others.

Ishola who also congratulated the students on their admission into the polytechnic, called the phone number of the School’s Rector, Mr. S.O. Sogunro to the students incase they have any complain to channel to him.

According to him, the school is well equipped with modern days facilities which he believed will enhance the performance of the students.

Also speaking at the programme, the Polytechnic Librarian Mrs. Bello Aderonke advised the student to make use of the school’s library in adding to their knowledge and upgrading themselves.    

Aderonke who was represented by Mrs. Abiodun Olajide described the school’s library as the pillar of the institution.

While speaking to the students on security related issues, the Chief Security Officer of the Polytechnic, Col. John Ogunlade   implored them to be watchful while on campus.

He also charged the student to dress in accordance to the rules and regulations of the Polytechnic, adding that they should cooperate with the security officers at the gate to avoid embarrassment.

“Always make sure you respect the school security officers. You must not dress indecently. Remember, the way you dress, so will be addressed,” Ogunlade said.
